PET scan/Herceptin

I’ve just finished 6 cycles of the chemo drug navelbine together with Herceptin. I was told that I would then continue with Herceptin every three weeks for approx a year. Now I’ve been told that they want to do a PET scan before commencing the Herceptin. Apparently this scan has to be done 30 days after the last cycle. Has anyone else done chemo + Herceptin then had a PET scan? I’m a bit worried that by leaving this gap of 30 days, which by the time you get results back etc will probably be longer, could leave me exposed.

Hi Elisa, I am not too knowledgable but as no one has answered I will try to help. Quite a few people have to stop herceptin if for instance, the muga scan shows a low score. I think I have read on here that three months is the time limit so you will be ok. I am sure that someone else will reply who knows more than me love Eileen

Hi Elisa

As you haven’t received many replies to your post, you may like to try the Breast Cancer Care ‘Ask the Nurse’ service?
