I started the excercises yesterday and I am really feeling it under the arm and muscles around it - the hands up the wall one was a killer! Do you know if we have to sleep slightly raised or can we lie more flat - my back is killing me. Crikey I’ve never moaned so much in my life
@glimmers Hi. I am sleeping on my back (normal two pillows), but put a small cushion under my armpit which I find makes that area more comfortable.
Don’t even talk to me about the arms up the wall exercise!!! Feels like my upper arm will snap! X
I did not go for reconstruction, you have the added pain/stiffness of that to contend with. X
Early days yet
@frame Ihope all is well with you, and that Angela’s recovery continues positively.
I recall her telling me in an earlier post that as long as we can walk in the woods and read a good book under a tree that can be enough. I value that, and realise now that it is enough…
Hello Sue, This is my first post and I had to write to you. I know everyone has a different experience with the same diagnosis, but, I had a bi-lateral Mastectomy and I was in no pain at all. I did not have drains, just sticky bandage which was removed after ten days. I did not even have to take a painkiller of any kind. When I came round I was still relaxed from the anesthetic, but pleasantly so. I still am amazed how smoothly it went. I am sure it will be the same for you, so I will not say good luck because you will be just fine. Lottie.
Dear lottie5,
Welcome to the forum, so nice to read a very positive post, this will help so many having the same treatment as you.
Well done, for doing so well, and wishing you health and happiness going forward.
Keep posting, letting us know how you are doing.
With the biggest hugs Tili
Thanks @lottie5. This is so good to read. X
