Im a bit concerned about my picc line, i cannot seem to straighten my arm fully. Its going in through inside of my elbow so im sure thats why its difficult to straighten but just want to check if others hade similar experience. Its not really painful just annoyingly achy at times. The muscle in the top of the arm has been at times a bit hard but does soothe with hot water bottle and ibuleve gel which is what the nurse suggested. She wasnt overly concerned said just to keep an eye on it as its a new line (nearly 2 weeks since insertion now)
Just wondering if this is normal? And will my arm go back to normal on removal of picc line? I can put up with it as long as i know its not doing any permanent damage
I have something similar but I’ve not got the picc line.
When I spoke to my chemo suite they weren’t too worried as it is the epprubicen (can’t spell it) from the FEC. Like you was told heat pad and ibulieve gel. They did say if it looked inflamed to go and see them but that hasn’t happened yet!
Sarah - i ended up with an infection in my picc line so it had to come out. Im not sure mine ever settled properly. I hope you have better outcome than me but if you are worried please talk to the nurses x
