As much as i love the word games etc i want to start another thread. maybe it will be a success maybe not.
I love the sea and if i am in distress i find it comforting to sit by the sea on a very windy day. The wild waves remind me that life is rough just at that time.
Maybe i will see a boat or a strong rock and feel secure??
Sitting by the side of our fish pond, watching the frogs and toads, the koi and the newts, listening to the water, drinking a cup of coffee with a chocolate biscuit.
I don’t live by the sea ( would love to) but I find a lot of comfort in this web site, we show ALL our emotions here, be it it happy, sad. scared, alone, we all know we can get comfort here/ Long may it reign. This is a good thread lets hear some more.
I do enjoy living by the sea, especially looking at it in the Winter, all rough and watching it lash against the sea walls. I watched yesterday the QE2 pass by on its way to Dubai as its final resting place which was lovely to see…dont really know why I shared that!! Apparently the QE2 is doing a lap of great britain.
But I agree with you about this site, this is one of the most comforting places.
I do agree there is something very soothing about the sea. It’s lovely to sit and watch it on a nice warm day but also good to watch on a rough stormy day from the comfort of a cosy warm room - if you’re lucky enough to live close enough. I wish I did!!
Ours has the most awesome scenery and I love razzing around in my little buggy! (I’m only 35 but chemo means I’m not able to walk the full course so I love the golf buggy we get!).
Yep the sea does it for me too. Its 10 mins in the car from me to 2 miles of golden sandy beach (not sunbathatble tho as Scotland!!). Love the sound and sight of the sea - very soothing and just looking out as your walking along with fave tunes on i pod. I would truly love a house looking out to see or a river - find that equally as calming and tranquil - dream on tho!!
Sending tranquil and calming thoughts to all

For me the ultimate is walking down main street usa in disneyland Paris…I feel alive safe and happy and like a little girl …I would live there if I could and we go as often as we can…I love it I feel the magic every time!!! If I ever dream or think of somewhere happy and safe thats where I go
Just noticed your thread, we go to Disney World in Florida and just love Main Street, USA. Our son would now have problems travelling that distance, and it is a nightmare with all his medical equipment. Can you recall how wheelchair friendly Disneyland, Paris, is? What are the hotels like, can you drive from here to there? Your opinions would be much appreciated.
HI KELLY…we go loads as my 6 yr old is autistic and couldn’t stand the flight either… I would defiantly recommend it and it is very wheelchair friendly…we have a big Mclaren buggy to use as he struggles walking lots…they have access to all the rides that you use via the exit for wheelchairs etc and they do look after you very well!!! I don’t know what your budget would be and indeed when you like to go but I can recommend how to book and save a bit of money!! I fly from luton with easy jet and book direct on their website easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp…by far the cheapest and best to fly there. You can drive though and parking at the hotels is provided and free…I also book my hotel direct on the Disney web site disneylandparis.co.uk/index.xhtml it is far cheaper to do this…we’re going in December for 4 days and with flights and accommodation will cost us in total £580 by booking privately like that for a family of 4 it’s good value in the Newport bay hotel and also upgraded to admirals floor as we get breakfast served in our room and it is worth the few pounds extra as we can eat relaxed and the kids are off to a happy start when they’re ready!! We have stayed in the actual pink hotel disney and this is right at the park entrance but you do pay a premium and was about £400 more for my trip this time and we have decided the other hotel offers breakie in the room so that is better hope this helps please feel free to ask anything!! Good thread, Liverbird! Yes, the sea does it for me too - I can walk along the beach at whatever pace I want, slow amble for relaxation, quick march when I’m p**d off. I like the cliffs and wildness of it all and I like poking about in the rock pools too. Where I live there’s always a chance of seeing dolphins, porpoises and seals - not often, but it’s a big experience when you do.
Can we build on the last post about Disneyland - If you could go anywhere you’d like - somewhere new - where would it be? My dream trip at the moment is to a Hindu temple a friend’s son visited on his gap year to India. The temple is a shrine to Lord Ganesh, the elephant god and there is a resident elephant in the shrine. If you give him 1 rupee he will “bless” you by (gently) touching your head with his trunk. It’s probably horribly unethical in terms of animal welfare, but it sounds so wonderful. Apparently, the elephant is also so glad of gifts of fruit that he will help himself to bananas from your pocket. Before we all get too excited, I think there are some 30 hour train journeys involved to get there, but I can dream about it. Where would you like to go?
