Please. Help me. Post double mastectomy

I am 54. Was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in 2008. After 7 months of 5 chemos, over 3 months of radiation, and every complication there is, I am cancer free. But after 7 lumpectomies, 11 biopsies, I chose to have a double mastectomy. October 23, 2015. I am still getting drained by a needle. After a “bleeder”, 2nd emergency surgery, my whole right side of the rib cage is smashed in. I started physical therapy last week. I can’t take it anymore. I am in extreme pain. I cannot breathe unless I yawn or lie flat. Please help me.

Hi Terri

Sorry to hear you are having such troubles. I don’t know how it has happened but your post is in the secondaries part of the forum and although some of us may have experienced similar it would have probably been a while ago when we had our primary treatment. Maybe you can get one of the BCC team to move your topic/thread to the appropriate section about surgery where you will most likely get some more responses.

Good luck with your treatment though.

Nicky

I am very sorry! I will try to delete it. Thank you.

Hi Terri

I am a physio and had a single mastectomy a few weeks after you had your double.

I paid for some private treatment to relax tight tissue - cording and such, but I havent had such an ordeal that you had. I am based in London and can recommend someone if that is useful and allowed on this site. Has the physio helped? How are you now?
