PLEASE HELP WITH RESEARCH

PLEASE HELP WITH RESEARCH I have just taken part in the Breakthrough Generations UK study of the causes of breast cancer and would urge as many as possible to do this. All it involves is a questionnaire and optional blood sampling. My doctor told me this was the largest research study into causes being done at the present time.

Research I did send for the details but I must admit I was a little put off by the fact that they said that they were keen to recruit people who did not have BC although they would take those who had received treatment.

Has this changed?

I rang them up to ask and they confirmed information from bc patients would be very useful.

Have filled in form i registered online and I was sent the form about six months ago. I also got the blood samples sent away. It was a very detailed questionnaire and some of the questions I wasn’t able to answer.
However, I felt all the information given was very thorough and I wanted to be part of a well-organised Study.

Encourage your daughters to join as well. I’ve joined and so has my 20 year old daughter (not sure if she’s sent everything off yet - will have to check). The blood sampling is straightforward. You just go to your GP practice nurse and have three small test tubes of blood taken. Nothing to worry about.

Jeremy Hughes, the Chief Exec of Breakthrough spoke to all the people at the Moonwalk before they set off and they have recruited 50,000 women to the study so far. They want 100,000.
