Please help Hello,

I posted in April about having been to the hospital with discharge and after my mamo was clear i didnt worry too much. Well that was untill today when iv been to see the consultant. She had an other look at the discharge and tested for blood. She said it came out a blood ++. I have now to go in and get the milk ducts removed as she is worried. Can anyone shred some light on this and what will happen then. I was on my own today so was so taken back didnt really ask many questions… only where the scars will be.

I have to go in very soon and they did give me breast cancer nurses phone number but to scared to phone really. What also shocked me was that you have a 1 in 10 chance of having bc with what i have.

thank you anyone that can help

Hi claire I thought all women had about 1 in 10 chance of getting bc so dont be too worried about stats

Hi Claire

So sorry to hear that you require further tests…glad they are investiagting further…i had fresh blood coming out my nipple and they still ignored me!! All my scans were normal too!! Got someone to listen eventually.
Anyway…i had two ops to remove ducts…with me the did tiny incision round the areolar which disappeared when it healed…no pain afterwards at all…lost sensation in my nipple tho and it also lost ability to go erect…still looked normal…unfortunately i had to go on to have further surgery…but i shall be crossing my fingers for you!!!

Just try and be reassured they are investigating thoroughly!!!
Big hug

P.S
Was only day surgery…general anaesthetic but no probs afterwards…
Took 30mins in theatre…

Hello Picasso & horace,

Thank you both for replying to my message.

Picasso… The doc did tell me about the loss of sensation but didnt say about the loss of ability to go erect ( well maybe she did and i stopped listening at that point!!!). I told one of my friends and she is off to Ann Summers shop to buy me a dummy one for when it is cold … we both had a giggle at it as laughing is my way off getting through to the op. ( sorry if i have offended anyone in laughing about it ).
I hope you dont mind me asking but why did you have to go on to have further surgery and what did you have done.

Everyone seems to be crumbling down all around me, ie aunts ect phoning crying even tho iv not spoke to them for years, very strange. Im just getting on with it and if its bad news well i will deal with it at that point but noone can understand that and think it will hit me fast and hard soon and i will break down. The thing is i have 3 children and 2 of them are small so have no time to sit and think… am i the one thats strange??

Anyway thank you once again for your answer and i wish you every luck in the future.

Hi Claire
I don’t think you are funny for laughing about things I had to find the funny things in all the investigations etc I had. I had a mastectomy and immediate recon and had to have photos before the op. I told a friend that it would be nothing to me to be a page three girl but for the fact I had no nipple and she sent me some nipple tassels! We had so many jokes about things it is the only way sometimes you can get through it all.
Hope all goes well for you and they find there is nothing to worry about.
Take care of yourself.
