Possible Chest Wall Recurrence - waiting for ultrasound...

Diagnosed February 2017 2.5cm tumour and lymph node involvement,  Chemo, 2 failed lumpectomies and a mastectomy, and will need radiotherapy soon.  Found three lumps on the mastectomy site.  Could be scar tissue but 2 of the lumps are quite high up…

Oncologist referred me for ultrasound when I found the first lump and this is booked Friday 10th November.  I haven’t told my oncologist that I found 2 more but I have told the Breast care nurses.

Going out of my mind.  Too much googinlg and I haven’t found much information.  Has anyone else had a recurrence this quick or found lumps 3 weeks post mastectomy?

Hi Luna,
I haven’t had this experience, but just didn’t want to pass on by.
Hopefully, all will be well & it’s scar tissue as you say.
Although ‘the waiting’ is the pits, thankfully you are getting it checked out & nothing much will change in the interim, it’s just that damn uncertainty again & as you say, too much googling can just do the head in a bit.
Wishing you all the very best for the 10th

Hi Luna,

Like Ann I haven’t been in your situation but wanted to drop in and offer support ?

Its very unfair that you are back in the waiting room so soon after going through so much already but this time the chances are it’s scarring and nothing more, I know your mind will be going all sorts of places right now and naturally so but try and dig deep and be business as usual until you know other wise , sending you love and positivity for the 10th Xx Jo

Good to meet you too Sue, if you want to, do let us know how you get on.
hugs & best wishes

Hi Lunat1c,

I just wanted to say that I had my mx last December and I have lumps on my mx site. I went for a US on 3 October and they are just scar tissue. One of the lumps feels like a little ball and even though I know they said everything was fine, I still don’t like that they are there. My lumps are quite high up as well.

Hello everyone!  Thank you all for your kind words and support.  I quite often look over the threads on the various forums for support and guidance.  This is the first time I have posted anything as I was at a loss and was hoping for some kind replies

Thank you for your input Silverlady.  I’m glad that you got the news that you must have been hoping for and I can completely understand that you wish the lumps weren’t there.  I’m at the stage that I keep checking that they are still there - as if I’m hoping they will disappear on there own.  They don’t unfortunately.

My sister has also been through treatment recently.  She was lucky enough to have a lumpectomy and also has a lump on her scar site.  She will be seeing her oncologist this week and will discuss her lump then.  I think it’s natural to question everything once you have been diagnosed.  It’s all just so scary!

I intend to keep positive and busy this week.  My youngest daughter is suffering with a sickness bug which is keeping me extra busy!  I’m just hoping I don’t come down with it and have to postpone my ultrasound.

Big hugs to everyone Xx

Hi Luna,

this is isn’t identical to you, but I had a mastectomy 16/17 years ago and have had mets for about three.

a couple of months back, I noticed lumps on my scar…was so cross because I tend to ignore that area and can’t see it that well anyway unless looking in a mirror…anyway, I also had pain and the lumps were brown…

when I saw the onc he confirmed they are from my radiation…and have had MRI since…not cancer…

just goes to show…so until you get confirmation try and keep an open mind if you canxx

Moijan???
