Possible results appointment tomorrow

Going through breast cancer treatment Surgery

Tomorrow i go for my first appointment with the consultant following surgery.
Ive been given the heads up by bcn pathology might not be back. The thought of not getting the results is just awful. I so want that bit over with. I can cope with any treatment option but just need to know! Anyone else in a similar situation?

How long have you waited. I’m waiting 4 weeks, which seems like torture, but 4 weeks seems quite standard at the moment. Can you ring up before to make sure they’re ready? Good luck, it’s like a rollercoaster. X

Really is isnt it! It will be 3 weeks on friday since surgery so i guess thats when they expected them back. Bcn said lab delays are common at the mo.

When I was waiting on initial biopsies I had to wait a bit longer, I’m in the north west, and the hospital said there was a shortage of pathologists , plus we’re right in the middle of holiday season too. Wish it was instant after surgery! Good luck :crossed_fingers: x

I’m just starting the wait as my op was a week ago. They weren’t expecting to see me with results until at least 4 weeks after the op, and said initially it may be 6 weeks or more - it depended on how long pathology took. I think the waiting is harder the nearer the appointment is - hope all goes well for anyone with an appointment in the next week.

Relieved to have got my surgery results today. The surgeon got everything out with clear margins but have to have an oncology appointment september for radiotherapy and tablets for 5 years. So good overall but not completely off the hook. x

Its so strange. Everyone is telling me its fantastic and im all clear! Feel a bit odd as i donĂľ Feel all clear facing rads and whatever meds ill need.

Finally got the last bit of my pathology results and Its HER2-low anyone know. Sounds like its classed as negative so just waiting for oncology appointment now to see whats next.

Mine was Her2 low which they’ve classed as negative. I’m not seeing onco until the end of September to ask about this.

Looking it up it says they may still use targeted therapy but i suppose we’ll find out from the onc. I go 9th September so ill let you know what they say!

I have started the wait too. Had my mastectomy last Thursday and SNB . BCN said usually 2-3 weeks but appointment will be 3 week post op.

Weird rollercoaster of emotions, first came relief straight after surgery, then came panic and anxiety, now I’m at the, nothings wrong with me now I’m fine, which is probably denial. :see_no_evil:

Expecting the worst but hoping for the best
