Is there anyone else out there who is ER negative, but PR positive and prescribed tamoxifen? I am only marginally PR positive and have my doubts about how effective tamoxifen is in my case. I have been on it for 18 months and am tempted to come off it (hot flushes!). I don’t ever get a chance to see an oncologist at the hospital to discuss. I guess I need to push harder to talk to someone about it. If it prevents secondaries, I’m happy to take it forever, but I don’t like the idea of taking drugs unnecessarily.

Hi i was only slightly pr+ and prescribed tamoxifen, I was worried too, but was told that because of my age i needed to have my hormones wiped out, in the end i had a complete hysterectomy!
Thanks for replying Anne Marie. It does seem unusual! I don’t know anyone else in the same boat.
