Pre Op result

Hi inurdreamz2

Firstly, may I welcome you to the Breast Cancer Care forums where I am sure you will receive valuable support, information and advice from your fellow forum users.

You are understandably feeling very anxious at the moment and you may find the following services helpful at this difficult time.

You are very welcome to contact our confidential helpline on 0808 800 6000 for support, information and a ‘listening ear’. The helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-2pm.

The helpliners can also talk to you about our other support services which you may find helpful at the moment. We provide a ‘Peer support’ service whereby we can put you in touch with someone, by telephone, who is of similar age and diagnosis to you so that you are able to talk to someone who has an understanding of how you may be feeling.

Our ‘Live Chat’ service gives you the chance to ‘chat’ online in real time to others affected by breast cancer and many issues are discussed in these sessions, they are held on Thursday evenings between 9-10pm.

If you feel these services would be of help to you now or in the future please contact us for more details or look under the ‘Support for you’ tab on the homepage of the website for further information.

Kind regards.

Sorry to hear how you’re feeling. If it’s any reassurance, most of us have had to play this waiting game many times. Most of the time the tests come back negative, but we stress ourselves out silly until they do. You’ve got enough on your plate to prepare for the op in 2 days time without worrying about this. While you’re in hospital try to talk through how you’re feeling with the nursing staff and your breast care nurse if you manage to see her. In the meantime, as Katie suggests, give the BCC helpline a call - it’s brilliant support and you’ll feel better just for offloading.
Hope all goes well with the op - come back and tell us how you got on.
