Pretty bra for after lumpectomy surgery

Hi,

I had a lumpectomy on the underside of my breast just over a week ago. I’m 30 years old and on top of everything else was not looking forward to having to put aside my padded, lacy and underwired bras in favour of a much less attractive sports bra, as advised. I did get myself a 2-pack of sports bras from M&S (marksandspencer.com/2-pack-high-impact-eco-non-wired-sports-a-gg-bras/p/p22139590 - useful to have two considering issues with washing subsequent to surgery!) with the help of the nice shop assistant, who it turned out had lots of experience with this kind of thing. This was ideally comfortable and supportive for immediately after surgery, and I initially wore it day and night. But a friend suggested I look for other options I could feel nice in, and I found this!

I’ve been wearing it for a couple of days now and when I went for my follow-up appointment today my breast care nurse commented on how nice it is (I’ve got the blue one), and was surprised to hear that it was from H&M and not some expensive designer. I can also confirm that it is soft, comfortable and supportive in just the right places. I’m a 34B and the ‘size 12’ fits me perfectly. It gives a nice, smooth & rounded shape & I feel much more attractive in it than in the yucky sports bra!

So I wanted to share this and to ask if anyone else has found any other similarly pretty (and preferably inexpensive) but comfy bras? I don’t think I’ll be going back to underwired for a while so may need to invest in one or two more…

Hi Holls and welcome to the BCC forums

I wondered if you would be interested in the BCC Lingerie evenings so here’s the link with information about these sessions and further support ideas for you:

Hi

Thanks for this, the bra does look lovely, I will be making a purchase!! I too could not wait to get rid of my sports bra which reminds me of the surgery.  I however just snipped at the sides of my favourite more comfortable bras and took the wiring out. I have had a lumpectomy which is still being packed as a haematoma burst my wound open but they feel fine xx
