I had my right breast reconstructed about 3 weeks ago, with a tissue expander. So far, no real problems to report.
My consultant has told me that eventually I ought to think about having my left breast “augmented” to even things up. I am wondering whether it is worthwhile just having the breast tissue removed and an implant on that side too, and removing the possibility of the breast cancer returning. I guess it is not that simple though, and would be really grateful to hear from anyone who has experienced this surgery.
