Problems transferring hospital notes following house move

I moved from one side of the country to the other in August. I was told by my current breast care unit that I didn’t need to do anything to get transferred to the new hospital as it would be done automatically. However nearly 4 months later a number of phone calls & letters later my notes have not arrived at the new hospital. In fact the old one has just written to invite me to my next mamogram. I am starting to get very frustrated, and I am also worried that I am due a mamogram but can’t have one at the moment (I was dx 3 years ago)
Has anyone else had similar problems?

hi cmw
I moved from Leicester to Brighton 2 years ago.I registered with my gp and he had my notes from previous gp within 2 days.He set up my hospital transfer and first appointment. In the meantime my gp transferred all my records to them and they contacted my previous hospital for my records they held.Hospital did have to contact my previous hospital recently for my previous radiotherapy records so I think maybe things are not always centalised. Why not ask your gp as he is ultimately responsible for your day to day care.Good luck and I hope you get things sorted soon.

I have been to the GP’s today and he is doing an urgent referral for me - it turns out my GP notes have never arrived!!!

HI there, my OH works in the NHS and the best way to get action is to ring the secretary of the last consultant …but perhaps you already have - hope mammo good, best wishes Nicola
