pcrm.org/health/veginfo/dairy.html is a link to a very clear explanation about what dairy foods in your diet do for your health and some implications for cancer.
Wishing you well,
Jenny
I have come across this link before. Intrigued as to PCRM’s credibility, I undertook a little ‘Googling’. I came across one site (activistcash.com/organisation_overview.cfm/oid//23). This states ‘The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. PCRM is a fanatical animal rights group that seeks to remove eggs, milk, meat, and seafood from the American diet, and to eliminate the use of animals in scientific research………While PCRM presents itself as a doctor-supported, unbiased source of health guidance, the group’s own literature echoes Newsweek’s observation that 95 percent of its members have no medical degrees. And even the five-percent doctor membership that PCRM claims is open to question. Anyone claiming to be a physician or a medical student can join without paying a dime…………The American Medical Association (AMA) has issued several strong public rebukes of PCRM, including a 1991 statement in Newsweek by the AMA’s senior vice president for science and medical education, who said: “They are neither responsible nor are they physicians.”
I’m not saying which is right and which is wrong……to paraphrase one old saying……’you pays your money…you takes your choice’.

Very interesting Jim25 and thanks.
I have used a local organic dairy for years now. Recently Durham University carried out some research into the beneifts of organic milk in the diet, focussing mainly on the milk produced by this particular dairy. They found that the higher levels of omega 3(amongst other things) had a number of benefits including preventative qualities when it came to cancer. So who do you believe? There is a ton of research out there, each with it’s own bias. A lot of it will scare you to death if you swallow it hook, line and sinker. Personally I prefer to eat a balanced diet, mostly organic, with nothing in excess.
Geraldine
Hi Geraldine I also use local organic dairy. I eat a balanced diet, as much organic as possible and have kept well all through my treatment.
Many thanks Jim for posting this info.
The vegan society has an interesting and balanced briefing covering a range of research into any possible “link” between breast cancer and milk.
If anyone has a vested interest in finding such a link they do, but in fact their briefing concludes that there’s no real evidence either way (they include some European studies which seem to indicate milk reduces the chance of breast cancer). All of the research they quote is available for you to check out for yourself. I’d put more credence in them than in the PCRM!
