Professor Cree

Hi all, I’m newly diagnosed - just before Christmas. Having to decide whether to do mastectomy then most likely chemo or whether to do chemo first to try and reduce the lump so I can have a smaller op.

I’ve been told of a chemosensitivity test that can be done by Professor Cree in Portsmouth that can test which chemotherapy drug is best and if you are allergic to any drugs and give lots of details about the tumour. Apparently it is available on the NHS, but probably only recently. Has anyone tried to get this test on NHS. They’re thinking about it but not said yes. I have ME and lots of sensitivities so am very keen to have this done.

All the best,
Carol

If you can get it, I would.

It will be interesting to hear what answer you have. I seem to have a sensitivity to vinca-based chemos, and would really like to know if there are any others that might cause trouble.
