Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Or even campanology or how do you spell the bloomin thing?! X

Another PS - Beth have fun tomorrow. I really enjoyed the Look Good session. It was quite emotional but also a giggle - I’ve had to put my goodies under lock and key though!!

Hi ladies,

just in case you were wondering, lol…

Adele arrived with me very late on Thursday, as the journey proved very challenging due to the snow - especially as she got stuck due to two accidents on the M25 - bringing it to a stand still.

It was wonderful having her along for my mammogram appointment and she was also able to meet my fantastic breast care nurse, too. Unfortunately no provisional results, as specialist was no longer there. But bone scan being organised to make sure all is really, really ok.

Food eaten, walks in woods and on beach, fireworks let off - and much talking and some drinking, lol.

What a mischievious, generous, warm person our Delly is!

I have now turned into Mum or Mistress, depending which mood takes her :smileylol:

Adele has travelled on to see some friends on the way back - so you might have to wait for her posting for a few days (or nights) yet.

Hugs

Sue x

Good to hear from you Sue, we missed you and Delly.  So glad you both enjoyed your time together.  Hope it’s not too long to wait for your results.  Looking forward to hearing of Dellys adventures when she returns xx

I had some stuff in the post today about follow up, the letter said mammogram results would take two weeks to come through.

I’ve often wondered whether the woman who did my first mammogram could tell there was something wrong when she did it. I saw her again at the follow up appointment and I nearly asked her.

They did used to give results on the day but now they are checked by 2 specialists so there is a wait of up to two weeks,I had a letter in with my appointment to warn me in advance ,  mine came back after 8 days Xx

I had a mammogram because I found a lump, they then took me to another room and did an ultrascan, left me on the bed for a while while they got a doctor in to do a biopsy.  I then had to wait in the waiting room to see another doctor who said they did the biospsy because there were some tissue changes.  She then said I had to wait two weeks for the results of the biopsy, but maybe it was benign, so She more or less said it was a tumour, but not what type.  A friend who lives in a different area who was diagnosed a few years ago was told it was cancer day of mammogram and biopsy, guess the biopsy tells  them what grade, type etc.  Think the follow up mammogram and wait is going to be a pretty anxious time, not looking forward to it.  Mines the 23 June xx

Mine was found by routine mammograms. I was recalled within a week for more tests and told by the consultant he was certain it was BC and the tests would confirm, which they did a week later. Lesley we definitely started this journey together - my recall phone call was on 23 June!
May have over done it at the fatigue gym (contradiction in terms!). Went a bit too fast on one bit of equipment and boobs were jiggling. Now in a bit of pain.
Sue I hope you don’t have too much longer to wait. It’s so frustrating. I bet you had a hoot.
Xx

So good to hear about your lovely time with Delly, Sue & very best wishes for the mammo.
My first follow-up mammo is next week & I cant believe its nearly a year since diagnosis & here I am!
love to all

I think routine  screening mammograms are different from diagnostic ones. When you get a recall from the screening service they send you for diagnostic mammograms, ultrasound and biopsy all on the same day. If you find a lump, you go straight to the diagnostic mammogram etc.

If I’d found a lump, everything would have happened at my local hospital which has the full range of diagnostic services. But all the screening recalls are handled in Poole, nearly 20 miles away, and the surgery back in Dorchester.

So I was pleased to see that the mammograms for the next five years will be in Dorchester, which is only 5 miles.

It seems silly that where they do the diagnostic services depends on the way your cancer is discovered, not where you live.

They told me that screening would be yearly for five years then every 18 months for the next three years.

And June 21 st was the day I had my first biopsy, the day they said, this is almost certainly cancer.

We are very definitely in this together! X

Good luck for next week Ann.  Very anxious time coming up.

off to bed now.  9am appointment in the morning for shoulders, Got to get two buses to get there in rush hour traffic so early start.  So hoping they can help me and give me Injection  one shoulder to start with, Know they can’t do both at same time, So need some relief from pain from at least one part of body.

Night all, wishing you all a restful night xx

Good luck for tomorrow Lesley, I think it’s time you got a break xx

Night everyone! I think your jab will work Lesley, my waters tell me so.

Ann…next week ! You anxious ??? Mine is March

thanks Lesley & Charys,
Like last year we’re away on a long holiday to see the eldest in NZ, so, as before, will come back from hols to find the results on the doormat, I presume - yay!
Anyway, I see the surgeon 2 days later, so I will do my best to put it out of my mind as there’s nothing I can do about it until we’re back.
anyway, sleep well, everyone
