About as good as it gets for a bc prognosis, I would think!! The best person to ask is your oncologist - he/she will have taken your prognosis into account when developing your treatment plan back in 2009, so will have charted the likely outcomes and the pros and cons of different treatments.

There are also online calculators that you can use, though they are not as up to date as the ones the oncs may use now - particularly for her2 + tumours.

With any progonosis though, remember… statistics are just that, statistics. Your odds could be 99-1… but what use is knowing that if you are the ‘1’? Any of us could get run over crossing the road tomorrow…and then what use were the statistics?

Of course, having said that, I know mine

Hi Gaynor, as Trip says, about as good as it gets.

I’m no expert but I think they consider all kinds of different things like what type, exactly what size and so on, so no two of us will be exactly the same prognosis. If this is something you want to know, I would talk to your BCN and say that or mention it at a review meeting with the surgeon or onc.

I was told prognosis both by my surgeon and my onc but as I was asking lots of questions they probably figured out I would want to know. Sometimes they don’t talk about it unless you ask, but I am sure they could tell you if you want to know. In some ways, as long as the answer is “good” the exact numbers aren’t that important xx

thanks for your advice ladys it all helps xxx gaynor
