Hello. We are going on holiday in a couple of weeks. I have had bilateral Mx and wear 2 prosthetics. I want to wear them to fly and just wonder if they show up on the body scanners at the airport. Wonder if I should tell someone that I am wearing them. Flying to USA and expect security to be thorough both outbound and inbound.
Anybody have any experience of this?
Hi, I flew into JFK last August and was really worried about the scanner. I did hand the security guard a card (taken from the TSA website) but he just looked at me as if I was mad!
There was no need to worry as the scan didn’t show anything. On the way back we flew from Newark and the scanner showed a small area on my chest and a couple of buttons on my trousers. I just had a quick pat down and I was through. I really wouldn’t worry about it and just look forward to your trip.
