Hi I started Zoladex last thursday as I am 34 and my fiance and I are hoping one day to have a baby of our own. I have 2 boys from a previous relationship and so don’t qualify for IVF. I can’t afford it privately so am seriously hoping this will work. I feel like if it doesn’t I will be taking away my fiances only chance at children. I know I will feel incredibly guilty if this happens :smileysad:
Is anyone else trying it or has been through Zoladex and chemo? I will be having talk about doses etc soon. Will be on fec-t, 3 cycles of each most likely.
I am sorry to hear you are going through this anxious time and I am sure some of our users will be along soon to share their experiences and offer their support.
In the meantime please do call our support line at 0808 800 6000 who can talk to you about Zoladex and offer a friendly ear.
Red Robin I’m here if you need to talk. My last chemo is on the 14th January thank goodness I went through some aching and muscle pain mainly… which I’m still going through at the moment. Good luck with your chemo how many sessions and what chemo? I had 4 sessions of EC chemo then nearly finished my taxol. Chemo. It is scary at first if you get your PICC it will make it easier. My arm wouldn’t take a PICC but that is just individuality I guess. I have a lumpectomy on the 18th February which half happy with as means hopefully this is nearly over with and half sad as a bit worried about the operation.A month later after the operation I’m due radiotherapy Mon to Fri for 3 weeks all go for me. I’m also tad worried about periods coming back now I’ve had my last zoladex on the 22nd December 15. Xxx love and hugs to you.
Hi Emz. Picc went in fine. I am on FEC-T. 3 cycles of Fec and 3 of T. I have just had my 2nd FEC on 8th Jan. The 2nd Zoladex was on the 4th Jan. I am wondering at the moment if these hot moments are due to the Zoladex or last lot of chemo. I keep waking up hot and/or sitting here in the evening getting hot.
I had a reconstruction masectomy to left side at the beginning of October so unless I want to change the implant to be natural with moving around tissues on me then there shouldn’t be any more operations. I am sure that your lumpectomy will go ok.
As yet I don’t know if I will need radio after or not. Hoping not.
Hi Robin,
Hot flushes I think are Chemo as my Dr has told me I could experience them with my Chemo. I get them a lot and they are annoying. Could be due to the fact of zoladex too I mean if you body usually has a period and that’s suddenly stopped. I’d ask your Dr for clarification if in doubt. I’m glad you PICC line when in OK; I hope this works well for you. I’ve been told I’m to have a lumpectomy on the 18th February 2016. If the cancer which has now fragmented in my left breast has gone out the parameters I might have a masectomy and nodes removed if they find something in there when they do the SEN. Which so far nothing has been shown in my nodes. My last Chemo is tomorrow 14th January 2016 I’m happy in a way as I’m on road to recovery. I hope all is well with you Robin xx
Thanks Emz I will ask them about it when I go for dressing change for picc on Monday. Think it can wait till then as seem to have calmed down which could suggest a chemo reaction instead of zoladex I suppose.
I had a masectomy and some nodes removed for testing at the beginning of October. 5 days after moving house of all things. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, although I did manage to get a skin infection 2 weeks after coming home. That’s just bad luck though on my part.
I figured out how to send a pm so sent you a message btw. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow xx
