Query re periods...

I’m just interested to see what happened with others re their periods… Mine stopped during chemo and then on the final day of radiotherapy I had the period from hell (must have been building up for the previous 8 months!!)…then they’ve been intermittent since January. I’m only 45 years old, but had fully expected them to stop permanently, given what I was told by the bc nurses and the oncologist. I was told it could bring on early menopause, either temporary or permanent, dependent on how close to the natural menopause you were… so how do we know that? I’d rather know one way or the other…!
Any comments welcome.

Hi,mine stopped after 4th chemo, which was 10 months ago.I am also taking tamoxifen.Oncologist said that chemo had put me into early menopause, and because of my age 46,and because of 5 years on tamoxifen my periods probably wont return, hope he’s right.

love and best wishes mellx

I’m 43 and my periods stopped during my fifth chemo, and haven’t returned after six months.I am also taking tamoxifen. Also hope they don’t return but i think there is a lot of variation between individuals

I should have mentioned that my bc was triple neg, so I’m not on Tamoxifen… I guess that would have been a different scenario…
