managed to do the last day ofmy “avoid lymphoedema” training … and during a chat afterwards I discovered I may be making a big error on the blood tests …
please can you tell me … are we allowed breakfast on the morning of chemo? …
only got one left now so it hardly matters does it - but it would be useful to know…
love FB xxx
at the hospital iu’m being treated at they even give you a sandwich during chemo if it runs into lunch and no-one has mentioned anything to me about no lunch. I was just told to try and drink loads b4 chemo if poss.
Yes, of course you must eat breakfast, lunch and dinner…you have to take the steroid tablets (for Taxotere anyway) with or after food.
As a matter of fact I always made sure I got to the hospital way before my morning chemo appointments so I had time to go to the hospital restaurant and have one of their marvellous breakfasts…egg, bacon sausages and fried bread lol!!!
Oh…and we had a tea trolley come round to the chemo suite with hot drinks and cake or biccies and if you were there around lunchtime you were served lunch too.
Before my 1st FEC I made sure I had a large breakfast as I figured it would be good to eat while I could and then my treatment ran over lunchtime so they offered us sandwiches - however, they’d only sent egg - maybe it was all they had left after those on the wards had made their choices. I reluctantly began to tuck in but then decided I didn’t fancy tasting it backwards so hubby ate the rest - but then wasn’t sick later just hungry, mind you the pub chips were probably nicer than the sandwich!
