For those of you who knew Poannie on these forums, a lovely article in her local paper: bit.ly/tzohL5 PM me if you would like a link to her Facebook pages. Too young and too wonderful. xx
Thank you for informing us Marilyn,
I know that you met with Joannie and thought a lot of her. I never met Joannie, she was too ill to attend one cupcake meet that I went to last year. I did however communicate through PM with her and she was very helpful when I underwent the Proximal femur replacement, as she had had the same at the same hospital.
Another life taken too soon! Such a shame! condolences to Joannie’s family and friends.
xx
Sincere condolences to Joan’s family and friends from the Breast Cancer Care team
Such sad news, another lady lost far, far too soon. I didn’t know Poannie but have read many of her posts over my time on the forum. Another reminder to me of how lucky I have been to make it this far and to make the most of every day. My deepest sympathy to all her family and friends.

Very sad news. I remember “Poannie’s” posts from back in 2007 and I have a feeling she was diagnosed with secondaries at a similar time as me (early 2008)as we were posting on the same threads and she always came across as a very determined young woman and I know was very keen to campaign for more support and awareness of women with secondaries.
Another young life taken but what amazing things she obviously achieved.
My thoughts are with her family and friends. She will be very missed on here.

Aw, so very sorry to hear about Poannie. What an amazing woman! I only made one of the Cupcake meetings because I was quite unwell that day, but have followed the stories of future events. Condolenses to her family and friends xx

Such a loss!
Why?
R.I.P. Poannie
Oh no, this is such sad news. I remember her posts on here as well as a couple of articles in the press. Poannie was so full of life, a real battler, and like others have said so vibrant. She had so much to deal with and yet very rarely appeared to let it get her down. It’s so so unfair.
condolencies to her loved ones she will be remembered for a long time to come. xx
What sad, sad news. I ‘knew’ Poannie only from these posts and knew that her BC wasn’t responding as she’d hope to treatment but it’s still a shock to hear that she is no longer with us. Thank you for the link and the posting, Marilyn.
May she rest in peace.
Nicky xx
Very sad news. Condolences to all who knew her.

Very sad and my condolences to her family. I am so humbled by the work she did for raising funds for the hospice despite the suffering she was going through. Rest in eternal peace my sweet.
