Race for Life

Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of my DX and I ran Race for Life in [drum role please] 45 MINUTES and I am so ridiculously proud of myself I just had to tell everyone.

I ran the race in memory of my friend Jackie and also for Jade as a thank you to both. Jackie for all the help she gave me in the early days and Jade for raising awareness in a way that no doctors or politicians have ever been able to do.

I also raced for all the ladies on here who helped me enormously and, whilst I don’t come on so often now, I love dearly.

AJ, well done you! And in such a good time, that’s fantastic. What an inspiration you are, so you should be very proud of yourself. All the best, Pat x

Well done you!!! Congratulations!!! Thats a really good time,

I am doing the race for life on the 17th May but will be walking as my daughter can’t run that far and we always walk it together and have done for the last 3 years (and to be totally honest I couldn’t run that far either, only just started running recently and can do 2 miles in a start stop fashion). It’ll be 9 months to the day bar one from my DX.

I am taking part on july 12th at Sutton Park in the midlands

Well done AJ you deserve to feel proud!

Good luck to Mazaroo and Ostrich too, get the running legs out ladies!

Very Well Done. I admire anyone that does it whether they run or walk. I can’t even manage the 10000 steps a day! Keep up the good work.
Hugs to all, Marion.

Well done AJ…

i am doing the race (i will be walking) on 14th June at Boston fitness centre in Lincolnshire. My 3 friends are doing it with me and if i cant manage it they will be there to push me along, i am doing it for my friend Mandy B who i met through BCC, also for all the lovely ladies i have met and have yet to meet on BCC.

Good luck to you all

I know what you mean re the Nivea lads Ajxxx, it’s well worth a visit cos they are sooooo bad!!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to bump this up to say All the Best to everyone taking part this year. I did the Regent’s Park one today with a group from my hospital (we walked it, as we’re all still a little fragile!)….Played the sympathy angle hard and have raised a nice bit of cash! It was my first time ever, and it was a really great day.

The Nivea guys were there…so hopefully you’ll see them on your day tomorrow Ostrich!

You go Girls!

I’m doing race for life on 19 July in Worthing. Looking forward to seeing the Nivea boys! I’m definitely doing it for the girls. This forum has been a lifesaver over the last 5 months. Well done to everyone who’s done it and good luck to everyone who’s going to do it.

Well I managed not to drown! It rained here in Weston and the race is on the beach so it was more a case of the paddle for life with me dragging my 11 year old behind me whilst the rain was whipped into our faces. Soaking wet and cold! Brrr!

Good luck to the rest of you ladies taking part, xxx
