Hi Guys

I’m not doing the Race for Life - but I am sponsoring friends who are doing it. Also sponsored someone for the Edinburgh Moon Walk last week.
well done to those who have done it and good luck to those planning it … maybe next year I will join in.
Well done AJ!!!
just wanted to say “well done” AJ also, thats great !!
I did the Norwich race yesterday in 37 minutes. It was in memory of my friend Margaret who died very suddenly in December, 2 weeks after being diagnosed with leukemia. I did it with my 2 daughters, Margaret’s 2 daughters, her sister, nieces, sister-in-law and 2 more of Margaret’s best friends. It was a very emotional but enjoyable day. It was nice for so many of us to do it for someone we all loved.

Wow Kelley what a good group of people to race with.
Well done AJ
I’ve signed up with my 7 year old daughter to ‘race’ in Cambridge on 9th July - 6 weeks after rads, the race before that 1st June I felt was too soon.
Byeee Pauline
well done aj i am doing the aberdeen race in june for the secodn year running did it last year just a couple of weeks after my op and was last it took me an hour and half in pouring rain i was tired but felt really good my sons partner who was eight and a half months pregnant walked with me the whole way hope to do it in a shorter time this year but well done to you
Well done AJ. I did the Leicester race last year in the middle of chemo, and am doing the Loughborough race this year on June 15.
Well done to you all. I’ve done the race for the last few years and always feel very emotional. This year I’m doing it on the 18th May in Falmouth. The day before my last chemo so it will be extra poignant this year. I’m doing it with my four sisters, 3 nieces and my daughter. It’s going to be great!
I all
Well done AJ
Im doing the race of life for the first time on June the 15th at loughborough with my three daughters.
I will have had my 4th treatment of herceptin by then.
Hi nicolaann,
I will be at the L’boro race for life on 15th with my two daughters, and two of my younger daughter’s friends. I should have had my 10th herceptin by then. If you see a family of beanpoles (me & my 18 year old are 6’ tall, my 13 yr old is 5’ 10") that will be us!
Am pushing this to the front for Barbara
I plan to do the race for life next year but two of my sisters are doing it today in Southsea (from what I can gather it is going to be a whole family affair - children, cousins, in-laws etc) and then my other sister and my mum are doing it on 17 June in Northampton, I think. I feel quite guilty that I’m not accompanying them - but I couldn’t do two in the space of a fortnight while on chemo…
All the best to everyone planning to do it this year.
Naz
Hi Just found this wee thread, thanks for bumping it up AJ.
I am not doing the race for life but I am chairing the committee who organises the local Relay for Life for the 2nd year in a row. That’s what everyone finds so ironic, I’ve been fundraising for CRUK for about 6 years and here I am making use of that research.
Last year we raised £27,923.53, so fingers crossed this year we will raise more.
Anyone interested in coming to Ballymena and putting in a team let me know ![]()
Hi road runner
Im not that tall my daughters are a bit taller then me. I might see you then!..
Im walking this one as im not fit to run. because its my first time dont know what to expect or were you meet from. lets hope the weather is a bit better.
My daughter did it two years ago and I was going to do it last year but got ovarian cancer and couldn’t. She’s doing it this year (with my grandson who can’t officially be entered) and hopefully I will be able to do it next year.
Good luck to all that run, walk or crawl it
