Radial Scar
A “radial scar” is a term used for a star shaped abnormality sometimes seen on a breast x-ray (mammogram). A radial scar appearance seen on a breast x-ray can be produced by a number of breast conditions, most of which are benign (not cancer), or by a previous operation on the breast. However, some radial scar areas contain small cancers or pre-cancer changes. It is not always possible to tell on the breast x-ray which radial scars are associated with these more worrying changes. For this reason a breast biopsy (removal of a tissue sample) is usually advised. Most often an operation is needed to diagnose the cause. However, sometimes it is possible to remove the small tissue sample needed using a hollow needle (called core needle biopsy).

thank you for your reply this is what i could feel, so i did wait sometime before i went to my GP as it did not feel like a lump. just as well i eventually went for advice as it turned out there was a tumor at the end of it,
