Radiation and the Risks???

Does anyone know just how much radiation we are exposed too in a bone scan and enhanced CT Liver and Lung scan?

I had severe pain in right scapula region for a month and after an oncologist visit, she booked me in for the above scans. Pain subsided (typical) but i still had scans. I couldnt help thinking when going through the proceedures am I exposing myself to dangerous radiation? This is actually worrying me more than the results(Not due til Sept) If they are ok I am loathe to ever go through these scans again.

I’ve not had additional RT since 2006 for adjuvant therapy but if I knew then what damage and havoc if would wreak with my soft tissues I might have thought twice - but they don’t tell you this of course. It is permanent damage and the RT carries on at its work long after treatment. In extremely rare cases it goes on progressing for years I was told, up to 10. Makes you wonder …

Ask them, question them and don’t be fobbed off.
