Hi @beck1010 hope your cold hasn’t got too much worse and good luck today. Weekend was busy, but good getting the last bits all sorted for Christmas. I hope you were able to relax and good luck this week- will you be having 3 sessions this week, and then start again after Christmas? X
Hi I have three this week … am feeling quite tired now .then a four day gap . Am having a dog come to stay for two weeks so that will be nice and will make me exercise . Can you remember what happens after this ? As I was thinking well now I am all lumpy so when do they check us ? And how ? Lobular doesn’t show on scans so will be interested to see how they can follow up x hope you are all set for Xmas ? I’m still doing cards and haven’t posted x
Hi @beck1010 beck1010 you’ve done so well, not long till hopefully a nice restful break. We’re looking after my sons dog at the moment, its so lovely she is a cocker spaniel, very lively and affectionate. What breed of dog will be visiting you? Its hard when you finish treatment, as you go from lots of appointments to basically one or two a year. I saw my oncologist after i finished radiotherapy and he prescribed the hormone treatment which I started. As I had a double mastectomy, I cant have mammograms and the NHS don’t do scans, basically its “check yourself”, which i don’t think is enough. As of course the worry of recurrence is still there. Fortunately I have my private health insurance and get a yearly ultrasound. Id def ask the breast team what checks they will provide for you, especially if the lobular is hard to find. Hope today goes okay x
I’m looking after a black spaniel he’s gorgeous except when he farts .. I have to have zoledronic acid infusions apparently .. and the ribo … yes I will be wanting proper scans because one everything is lumpy and the scans don’t show lobular so where does that leave us .. if I have to have private scans I will though wd be worried I might light up everywhere like a Xmas tree . Happy Christmas to you .. your support has been so valuable I hope we can keep in touch xx
Hi @beck1010 beck1010 ah that’s the same colour as Pepper. Im sure you will get the follow ups you need. I dont think the worry of recurrence ever goes, but hopefully it will ease with time. I did go to a Breast Cancer Now Moving on course once I’d finished radiotherapy, it was face to face and I found it really helpful. Thank you for your kind words, its been lovely chatting with you, and I hope we keep in touch too xx
So I was bought a puppy for Xmas so currently two dogs in the house this will be somewhat a distraction . Hope your Xmas was lovely x
Hi @beck1010 ah wow thats lovely! what a lovely distraction. What breed, colour and what are you going to call him/her? i hope he brings you so much joy, love and affection. I had a good christmas thank you, the highlight was seeing my 10 month old grandaughter, they live 5-6 hours drive away, so we don’t see them as much as id like. She is the cutest! Hope your sessions go well this week, how many have you got left?
I have called him Arty ( Arthur ) Trouble . He is an Australian labradoodle . Oh that’s lovely you got to see your grandchildren .
I felt unwell at radiology yesterday felt all dizzy and got a migraine Witt aura so I feel really daunted today … I think it’s all catching up with me as feel
Tired and low and very anxious about spread again … Hope it will
Ease a bit … everyone else I meet has had loads of lymph’s taken out so I feel like i am the only one gambling with it all and especially because it’s lobular . I have a gynae issue that has gone on many months so am building that up because I know ill have to have that checked … am mentally exhausted …
Anyway aside from
That am ok . My partners son is with us and two of my grown up children are coming round later . The other one she has gone to Ireland for a few days .
Hope you have a lovely rest of the Xmas break and do keep in touch xx
Hi @beck1010, great name! Wow he will be a big dog and full of beans, youll have lots of fun with him.
Im not surprised you’re feeling tired, its a lot to go through. And of course you worry about reoccurrence, i hope that does ease, though I don’t think it ever goes away completley- wether you have surgery or clearance. I liked to think of the radiotherapy waves killing any microscopic cancer cells when I was having the treatment and youve had quite a few rounds now. I think it helps to Visualise it. Enjoy your family time xx
Happy New Year to you … I realised I had replied to your message and it hasn’t sent the other day xx:partying_face:![]()
@beck1010 beck1010 thank you, Happy New Year to you too! Hope you are doing okay. Have you had all your sessions now? X
I have some kind of infection under the boob that had radiation and it’s all very hot .. and along with the gynae issue am feeling a bit wobbly again .. I’ve booked a smear test and will ask their advice next week .. and will ring breast care nurses today . I have appointment with oncologist on the 15th and think I will be started on the ribociclib then . I need to write down lots of questions . I can’t remember if you said your breast cancer was lobular ? Mine was lobular and also ductal ( smaller ) and tubular .. but the lobular is making me v afraid . So yes the anxieties are back xx
Hi @beck1010 yes id def get that checked out, you may need some antibiotics. I hope the nurse was able to get you sorted. I had 4 tumours, 2 in each breast - 3 ductal and one small tubular. Is lobular harder to see on a mammogram? It is all scary. Ive had some gynae issues too, really not what I need! All side effects of the tamoxifen i think. Hopefully once you get the infection sorted you will start to feel a bit better in your self, take care x
Ah you also yes I think the letrozole causes some gynae stuff too oh the joy .. hosp was great the radiology had me in and checked me out and gave me lots of dressings to apply so feel a bit better .. it’s all exhausting .. I had a tiny tubular too I’d never even heard of it … the mammograms don’t spit lobular apparently .. mind you my mri didn’t spot any of them , the biopsy’s only showed DCIS and nothing in the axilla .. it’s all v odd really . Hope you are having a good week x
Hi @beck1010 ah thats really good, im glad you got seen and sorted! Yes good week so far, albeit a little chilly! X
Ooh the radiation burns sting v badly .. but am out on short walk .. how are you ? X
Ah @beck1010 that’s not good! Have you got anything to put on it? I used flamigel n found it very effective. Im good thanks, glad its the weekend. Were going for a walk at Frinton on sea tomorrow, it going to be cold! But nice to get some sea air and fish n chips too! Honestly find working much harder than I used too, get tired in the evening and struggle to do much else than veg in front of the TV. X
Oh lovely that will blow the cobwebs away … well it’s great you are back at work .. I need to begin to get organised again on that front .. I think I may have some flamigel will find it .. enjoy the rest of your weekend ![]()
