My daughter has learning disabilities and she was due to go for planning for radiotherapy but she wont lie down . Even in bed she has to have 4 pillows. Surely she cant be the only person in the world who has a phobia about lying down. Why isn there a machine that can deliver radiotherapy whilst you are sitting with your arm raised.
Hi Palmwood
Have you told the hospital about your daughter’s phobia? Surely they must have an answer?
I know exactly what you mean, why can’t you have the treatment in the sitting position?
I do hope you contact them and they have a solution for you.

Hi Palmwood
I am glad you have posted this and I am sorry about your daughter, it is traumatic enough with those what look like huge machines…I have scoliosis and find it hard to lie on my back for very long I was wondering about the lying down …I do know people that have radiation on the chest standing up so I may ask about this…I know they have given me an appointment for an hour and a half for planning and there is no way I could lie there on my back for that ammount of time…
Love
