Radiotherapy - breast and lymph nodes - what questions should I ask?

Thank you for sharing your experience. A friend suggested I visit the Maggie’s Centre linked to the hospital where I’ll receive my RT - this is a different hospital from the two I went to for my lumpectomy and mastectomy.
I visited there today for the first time and attended a preparing for RT workshop they had running - which I’d recommend to anyone who has access to a Maggie’s centre.
We also touched on the combination of RT and hormone blockers - which I’d been told I would need to start taking, but hadn’t realised until today they would start the same time as my RT.
I’m planning to raise this with my Oncologist next week, to ask if there is any possibility of postponing the hormone meds until after RT - hopefully the fact I’m menopausal will mean we can have this conversation, and I can take it one step at a time. :crossed_fingers:

This is really helpful. I asked if I would be able to continue working (even part time) during my RT and was told by the treatment team I would be able to work at the beginning no problem, but like you they said the worst fatigue would gradually build up over the weeks and likely hit most the 2 weeks after the treatment ends as it’s still working in my body. Really helpful to know as I naively through I’d start to feel better the minute the treatment stopped. Thanks for sharing, take care :hugs:
