Hello rbf,
Thank you for your post.
It’s understandable that you are concerned about the timing of your radiotherapy due to delays in your area.
Subsequent treatments such as radiotherapy are usually within 31days (see point 3.16) from when your treatment team have decided you need radiotherapy (decision to treat). In your situation, this may be from the conversation where you and your treatment team agree that you have recovered from the chemotherapy and are fit for the next treatment. In most cases, radiotherapy following chemotherapy will be carried out within 12 weeks of the chemotherapy finishing.
How long you might have to wait for radiotherapy to start following your appointment with the oncologist will vary from hospital to hospital, and as @bigpickle says, there is usually a wait between chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The extent to which any delays may impact on prognosis depends on your individual situation. The best people to talk to about any concerns you have about waiting times for radiotherapy are your breast care nurse or oncologist, as they have all the detailed information about your individual situation.
