news article There’s an article on the BBC news website that says there is a 60% chance of relapse if you wait longer than 8 weeks between surgery and radiotherapy:

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4606756.stm

Somewhat depressed since I waited 12 weeks for radio. At the time my bc nurse told me it was fine to wait anything up to 6 months and even then I knew she lying.

Minor correction The article says that the risk is increased by 60%. That means that if you would have had a 10% risk of recurrence, a delay bumps it up to 16%. A 20% risk of recurrence becomes 32% instead.

— Is this why — there suddenly seems to be an increase in people having radiotherapy at the same time as their chemotherapy?

Waiting For Radiotherpay I have not heard anything about my radiotherapy as yet and I had my surgery in October and currently having my second session of caemo does that mean the percentage of relapse is much higher for me??

Local recurrence only? Is this an increase of 60% risk for local recurrence or for recurrence elsewhere too? I also find it worrying as I had to wait 13 weeks after surgery before radio (but had chemo first).

Me again Hi, Just posting again to bump this up to the top, wondering if anyone can answer my question with regards to the 60% increase - & what increase does that work out in absolute terms?

Thanks
