Rads and breast conserving surgery

Rads and breast conserving surgery Hi ladies

I finished rads on my conserved breast last Friday. The boob itself is bright pink, but underneath is really red and sore, in spite of slathering on aqueous cream and E45. Can anyone tell me how long it will be (roughly) before this goes down?

In the meantime, I am exposing the flesh to the air as much as possible, and wear pure cotton when I have to go out.

Thought I had got away with it - silly me!!

Burnt bits Hi Mcgle.

I’m sure it is different for everyone, but I seemed to reach the peak of my burning about 1 1/2 weeks after rads finished. I had a really bad patch on my collar bone. It then peeled and is now much better (just over 2 weeks since I finished).

I’ve been slapping the cream on etc all the way through and since rads, and apart from the patch on my collar bone the rest of my skin has held up really well. I hope yours calms down soon.

toasted My breast seemed at it’s worst a week after finishing rads. The skin became very red and then blistered and peeled. I also keep getting pains inside the breast. All this seems to be ‘normal’ so I just keep slapping on the cream!

— —Hi
Rads keep working for about 2 weeks after you stop.
I had similar problems with peeling and blisters worsest point was about 2-3 weeks after I finished, like you applied lots and lots of aqueous cream + dressings . Skin healed very quickly in about a week to 10 days . Hope my incoherent ramblings hve helped

I look forward to the time when all this has subsided, and some element of normality returns to my life!
