Hi Hatty, like Norberte said there is no hard and fasr rules about who ends up with lymphoedema though some are at greater risk than others. The fact that you have had any amount of nodes out puts you at risk and I believe that some of us are pre-disposed to this condition. I only had 4 out but my lymphoedema flared up in breast, arm and trunk 10 weeks post rads. Can only advise you to read all the literature and take reasonable precautions but don’t beat yourself up about it. It’s a life long risk and just not enough research is done into this subject plus there is a hell of a lot of misinformation or just plain lack of info for us . If it hadn’t been for this forum I prob would still be puting up with a condition that I am now actually able to manage.

Good luck with the rads, pleny of aqueous cream and drinking loads of water got me through.
