After much deliberation!!..I’m 13 days post lymph node clearance & altho my allergy was noted on my wristband…i was patched up with a transpore dressing & the rash around my wound has gone from a red rash to a thick red swollen area & is creeping outwards - delightful & hugely itchy!!
i’ve been using sudocrem & saw my gp today & she said just continue with sudocrem & yes is an allergic reaction
has anyone else experienced anything like this and/or has magic treatments for rashes?

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I would ask the GP or mention to the BCN that maybe a antibotic cream or even tablets may reduce the risk of infection.
I didn’t know I was allergic to sticky dressings until after my Mx, (2004) when the dressing was changed I had reacted badly to steristrips stitches and lost a fair amount of skin and a nasty infection followed which led to several re openings of the wound.
I’m not suggesting anything like that is going to happen but preventive action against infection would be my choice.
Hi,
I am also allergic to some dressings and usually use a mild hydrortisone, but you would need to be careful around your wound.Maybe put it on from the outside edge inwards if that makes sense.
For the itch try an anti-histamine (hayfever) tablet.
I am suffering from a rash post rads so understand where you are coming from!!!
Good luck,
Dot

I’m allergic to some of the dressings and tape that they use too, altho my reaction was not as severe as yours and I didn’t need anything for it. Sometimes my skin reacts more than other days…don’t know why that should be.
I agree with Dot…hydrocortisone and an antihistamine.
Hope it clears up soon.

I am five days post op (wle and snb) and this morning woke up to very itchy under arm and on looking at the dressing small blister under one edge and red marks all round the edge of the dressing. I’ve removed it straight away - blister burst as I did - and phoned the practice nurse. Waiting for her to call back.
