oh yes, great idea. its the only good bit of this disease - thank god i can still read! its such a help in forgetting your troubles.
at present i am reading Black Swan Green by the same author as Cloud Atlas - another great book.
Last week it was Arthur and George and next, the latest Kate Atkinson, pity i cant remember authors and titles at the same time!
It would be great to discuss books and get some recommendations - biddy

Yes I am. I’m a huge reader, and would love to take part.

Good, short of time right now but I recommend NOT to bother with Pelé’s autobiography!!! Talk about blowing your own trumpet … he must be breathless.

Hi

Here, at last, a good read - Mrs P’s Journey by Sarah Hartley. Story of the spunky little lady who put the London A-Z together back in the 20s/30s. What a hard life she had AND kept going till she fell off her perch. Amazing achievement for one person …

Some cracking historical novels I enjoyed and read last year were ‘The Crimson Petal and the White’ by Michel Weber (it’s enormous though) and also ‘A Factory of Cunning’ by Phillipa Stockley, so I would recommend those off the top of my head. Basically I will read anything though if someone recommends it !! Dahlia will you be a ‘group leader’ kinda thing?

Hello. Can I join in? I love reading and it definitely helped me get through chemo earlier this year.
My favourites were:

Restless by William Boyd
Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky
Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes

Take care everyone
