Reason to be cheerful

Hi Ladies,

I know you all like to hear good news from time to time so here goes. I had my mastectomy on Monday 25th and now have the pathology results back. My tumour had shrunk from 12cm to 1.5cm and there is no cancer in the lymph nodes (they tested 15). :slight_smile:

It has given me such a boost to know that all the chemo s**t was worth it after all. I feel very lucky to have been diagnosed and treated so quickly (although at the time it felt as if it was taking forever).

I know that the nature of this disease means there’s a strong possibility it will come back and I still have radiotherapy and Herceptin to look forward to but for now I’m going to enjoy being cheerful.

Hi, thats fantastic news, im so pleased for you and wish all goes well in the future for you. Can i ask what chemo you had?? i hope to be in a similar position in January, fingers crossed.

Hi Anna.

I had 3 sessions of FEC and 3 Taxotere with 21 days between each session.
