Hello never thought I would be writing this but have just came home from work to find a letter saying I have been recalled after my first mammogram am sick with worry. Am wondering how long I will have to wait to get my appointment .

As Lb says, screening has picked up that something needs to be looked at & that’s what its for. Inevitably, anxiety goes with the territory, but mostly all turns out to be well. If it is more serious, then the earlier it is dealt with the better, bc is very treatable these days, with most women making a full revovery.

Following the initial mammo things will happen v quickly - with the follow up appt. I had an appt sent through immediately. Within 4 days I was having some more tests done, and a week after that I got my results. It is a really worrying time - but the screening staff are superb, and will do everything to explain next steps. A lot of people recalled do not have anything sinister - and the screening process is there to pick up stuff really early. Make sure you chase the follow up appt. Take care
