Hey Ladies, I was just wondering if there is any under 30th that have been recently diagnosed like me. Really struggling to find someone to relate too. Currently battling the Fertility treatment vs Chemo as I haven’t had children yet x
Hi Mini ,so sorry you are having to join us .There are a number of ladies on the forum in their twenties and us old codgers are happy to support you too !! There is a younger women section on the forum and some quite recent discussions re fertility etc I will post you a link .Jill x
Hi Mini_5, Sorry you find yourself here. At any age breast cancer is hard to deal with but for younger women it can be so much harder as there are more things to factor in like fertility. It certainly isn’t the older woman’s disease I thought it was. I was diagnosed at 48 and that’s certainly older than you but much younger than the “expected” age for developing breast cancer. Like Jill has suggested, it would be nice for you to chat with others who are younger and going through the same. In the meantime, here’s my story which has lots of tips for getting through chemo side effects etc. lifeafterlola.com/
I also recommend you join the “going through treatment” monthly chemo thread and gain some support from others going through chemo at the same time as you. I found this really helpful. Sending hugs. xxxxx
Hi Mini
It’s Emily here from Breast Cancer Care.
I’m really sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. I just wanted to let you know that we have a telephone support volunteer who was diagnosed in their 20s too. They’d be happy to speak to you and share their experiences if you’d like to talk.
If you think this would help, feel free to give us a ring on 0345 077 1893 and we can put you in touch with someone.
Best wishes
Emily at Breast Cancer Care
