Hi Ladies
Can anyone recommend any nice comfy post surgery bras that dont cost the earth?? I have a few nice white ones from asda which were a bargain at £6 and look good with a softie but Id like a few more white and some nude and black if poss. Ive just had further surgery for skin mets after mx in Jan this year and so have extensive scarring so I think comfort is key!! Im completely flat on my left side but a 38D on my right so I need something that will carry my softie and look as natural as poss (im only 32 btw…).
Just dont want to spend a fortune on stuff unless its recommended really. Before my recent op I tended to wear moulded style bras as they tend to give a good shape but Im open to suggestions. Underwire is defo out for now!!
Thanks in advance ladies

Hi
You might want to try out marks and spencer. They carry the full range online.

Marks and spencer bras available on a well known auction site usually much cheaper than in the store.

M and S bras are really good, and once VAT taken off, can cost around £10 to £12 , much less than the dedicated mastectomy bra companies. My only quibble with them is that they don’t always do matching briefs. Don’t we want to look good just cos wev’e had surgery??!!
It is my personal mission to get them to supply us with as much choice as the average two breasted women has!!
Best wishes,
Jax
Hi
I haven’t tried them but I’ve seen some pretty post surgery bras with bilateral pockets and lace inserts (to hide high scarring) at Matalan at £6 each.
Good luck x
I am more than happy with the ones I have from Marks and Spencers. The only complaint I have is that I have to fill in the tax exemption card for every bra I buy there. The staff have gone out of their way to tell me about matching briefs, even going to get them for me when I am at the till. Completely off topic, but I recently took my daughter there to be measured for her first bra and they were fantastic, incredibly patient and no pressure to buy.

Thanks ladies for your replies
I have just ordered several from m&s so I an try on and send back any I dont like. I didnt know about the VAT exemption until I got to the check out so that was a nice surprise!! I saved about £12!
I also ordered a nice per una one off ebay (thanks jano!)
I will nip into matalan once Im upto venturing out and seeif I can get some bargains there too. The only problem Im having is trying to find nice bras in black! Everything seems to be white…
Thanks again

p.s. wouldnt it make more sense if the bras came with the softie built in to get the perfect size. Seems logical to me but obviously not…!!
Asda do a fairly cheap bra in both black and white for post-op. I personally didnt get one because they didnt fit right for me, but I know a lot of people rate them.
Once I got my prosthetic I went to be measured up properly and felt loads more confident from then on. I went to a lovely shop in Altringham called Betty N Belle and the ladies there were really nice and put you at ease
Thanks for that I have some of the asda bras but they only sell them in White by me so I might ask them to order me some instore coz I’d love some black ones.
Glad you’ve found a good stockist- if I’m not impressed with all the m+s ones I’ve ordered I’ll probably go to a specialist store too. I haven’t got my proper falsie yet tho so I’ll be testing them all out with my sortie (scars still not healed).
Pick them all up Tuesday from the store can’t wait!
All the best x
