Reconstruction after radiotherapy

Hello I’m new on here so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section.

I was first diagnosed with breast cancer 16 years ago. This was treated with a lumpectomy & 4 weeks radiotherapy & I recovered very well. This has now returned in the same breast, but in a different place so the only option is a masectomy. I have opted for recon at the same time using a silicon implant, but was advised this is not always successful after radiation. Is there anyone out there who has had a good result using this technique after radiotherapy?

Many thanks
