Hi All
I had an MX about 2 1/2 years ago now and was not allowed a reconstruction until I lost weight. I have just fallen into the weight category allowed (YAY) and have been told that my surgeon will refer me to the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow.
Can anybody tell me if they have been on the waiting list for Canniesburn and if so, how long did you wait. Im now worried that I have another 2 years to wait to be seen.

Hi hope this helps. I underwent a mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes in Feb followed by radiotherapy. My six months are now up and I was told that once on the list for reconstruction at Canniesburn I would be taken within 8 weeks. Hoping to be in Jan or Feb!

Hi im not sure about your specific hospital but I think you should be seen fairly soon and then once on waiting list I think there’s a time frame of 16week when your op needs to be done by but things happen, good luck, im trying to loose my wieght for my second large op for recon x

Thanks for the replies (and sorry for taking so long!) I have seen the nurse who told me I would see a surgeon within two weeks. That was over 10 weeks ago now! so Im not holding my breath. I was really hoping that I would be in before the end of Jan as I get married in May. Guess I will have to put it off for now .
