Reconstruction while having herceptin??

I saw my plastic surgeon last week and he has now suggested that I wait for reconstruction untill I have finished my herceptin next Feb 2011. Being the impatatient 34 year old that I am who is fed up of being hot and sweaty with my protheisis and being very restricted with clothes am a bit fed up. (had bi lateral mastectomy last September)
Has anyone else had reconstruction while on herceptin as he has said its up to my oncologist who i am seeing in two weeks?? I think his main concern is that I only really have the option of going for the Tram flap tummy op and because its both sides its going to be a big operation!!
Has anybody been through the same or any experience of this would appreciate some thoughts.

I am on herceptin and I have been told to wait until I have finished it, I finish Feb 2011.

I am a doctor and I was diagnosed with Stage2a breast cancer , once I finished my chemotherapy and I was only on herceptin I had my reconstruction done . I only had to have a cardiac doppler to make sure my heart left ventricular function was normal , what you are supposed to have it anyway. I had partial mastectomy before my chemo , once the chemo was over I had bilateral mastectomy and proceed to reconstruction.
