4 years ago i was diagnosed with lobular cancer 2nd diagnosis.
I had lumpectomy sentinel node biopsy and 2nd surgery for margins.
I had 15 days of radiotherapy then tamoxifen swapped to anastrozle due uterine problems.
I have now been diagnosed for the 3rd time in the other breast er8 pr4 her negative.
Awaiting surgery at the moment.
The breast care nurse said ypu might as well stop the anastrozle as it didnt work.
Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
I am scared to stop the anastrozle as i feel it might hold it in check until i get the surgery.
Is anyone else in the same situation and what were they advised

Hi there
I can’t help you with this one - I can appreciate your dilemma though .I’m sorry that you have had the recurrence maybe you could post in the ask the Nurses section - they may be able to elaborate on what your BCN said and why . I think the helpline is open Saturday mornings as well .
I’m not sure if you’ve been given a date for surgery yet but you are usually told to stop hormone therapy beforehand because it can increase the risk of certain complications afterwards . You might want to clarify this with your BCN as they may now assume that you have stopped taking it already and that there would be no reason to remind you.
Take care and sending love
