so my doc is refering me to the clinic even though she said it was prob nothing. but i dont get why she kept going on and on it was probably nothing, unlikely its cancer etc and then in the next breath said actually it was pretty abnormal and it was a good job i came in to see her because most women leave it. wel if its normally nothing why would it matter?
I’m the same, yes i can feel what your feeling but don’t worry about it, is the answer i got in dec but then last week i got i think it’s time it was checked out but not as urgent.
so i’m wondering is it a lump or not & should i be worried or not, part of me would feel better if i got yes it’s a lump & we need it checking as urgent…for now i’m left with yes there is something but no it’s not urgent but noone has said what it might be.
i’m worried to death one min not worried at all the next …
o thats tough, my doc said that refering me would put both our minds at ease. i take it ur docs not worried about u being anxious about it then?! yea its the not knowing.
i didnt have any lumps but she said they automatically refer to the clinic with bleeding (basically as urgent/ seen in 2weeks), that makes me feel worse now coz if shes not worried then why is it urgent?! aghgh.
im really hoping my appt letter comes through soon, as im in a bit of pain now! ![]()
I’m in the same boat too, I found a big lump and went to see my GP. He barely touched it, but felt it as it’s pretty big and instantly told me he was refering me to the breast clinic. He went on to ask about my family history and said the referal was partly because of that but he’d already decided on that before I gave him the history. I have an appointment on 19th March, I’m not taken too seriously at the moment because of my age(28). My appointment is 6 weeks from when I went to the doctors I rang to ask for an earlier appointment but it turns out the GP I saw refered me to see one doctor in particular at the clinic but he’s on annual leave for 3 weeks so I have to wait until he gets back off his sunnys. Good luck xx
thats really bad! in the uk they have to see you within 4 weeks, so unless u want to wait for this particular person id demand to see someone else sooner! urgent appts which sounds like urs would be if have risk factors are meant to be seen in about 2 weeks. n thats bad enough!
I’ve already tried to contact the hospital to have my appointment moved forward, apparently they cant do anything as the referal was made to see a particular doctor. I’ve tried to contact my GP to find out why I cant just be seen by anyone and was told the one I’ve been sent to is the best in the field and with my age I could easily be fobbed off but he respects age doesn’t matter in these situations. He said if I saw someone else they may not be as specialised in treating younger patients and by the time the referal goes through again I’d only be seen a couple of days earlier than my current appoinment anyway. So the waiting goes on but at least I know I will be checked properly with no stone unturned to make sure I get propper answers. I’ve only 2 weeks 5 days to go and counting.
weird. well im young but im just seeing whoever will do it. i mean it cant be that hard to see if theres a lump on an ultrasound etc? under NICE they have to see u in 4 weeks! i guess u have to make a fuss about these things and when ur young people think they can fob u off. o well hope u get it sorted! mine will prob be round about the time of urs then.
o i wish the appt wouldhurry up and come through, im so worried about what it could be, because i really dont have a clue. i dont think its an infection. what if nothing shows up?
Hi
Hope your app comes through on Mon for you.If it doesn’t give your surgery a call and check that they have referred you.
I waited for mine for 4 weeks in Dec only to find out that they had forgot to refer me.I finally had first app in Feb.I’m now waiting for biopsy results. What a nightmare this waiting is !!
Hope all goes well for you

whats the biopsy bit like? that sounds a bit horrific. how long u got to wait for the results? hope it goes ok.
I went to the breast clinic 1st wk in Feb & consultant found a thickening in breast. He didn’t think it was anything to worry about so I then had to wait until 26th Feb for mammogram.A suspect mass showed up on x-ray so I had to have scan & then deep core biopsy.
The biopsy was fine, they numbed the area first which just stung a little and then I didn’t feel a thing.I have to go back this Tues for results.

Jo, sounds like you have been thou hell with all your waiting, are you ok

Hi twinmum

just wondering, does anyone know what happens if nothing shows up on the ultrasound? im kind of also worried that nothing will show up and theyl say its nothing and how will that explain the bleeding?
i’ll be thinking of u jo.
Lizzy, funny i’m worrying about the same thing, I think what if the doc has a feel & can’t find a lump will that be it or will they do a scan anyway? worrying isn’t ?
they’l do a scan, but what if the scan doesnt show anything. i mean something must be causing it mustnt it? i know sometimes the ultrasound doesnt find anything but the mammogram does, but i wont be having one of those so dont know whre that leaves me. hmm
Nothing showed up in my breast on mammo or on ultrasound, although the docs knew from a biopsy on a swollen underarm lymph node that contained bc cells, that somewhere in the breast there must be a primary tumour.
In the end I had an MRI scan which showed that I did indeed have 2 very small primaries in that breast - too small to show up on ordinary scans. So if your doctors are at all suspicious and nothing shows on mammo or u/s, they should refer you to MRI or PET scan.
Hope all goes well for you

thanks for that, that helps.
