Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology Had my first reflexology session last week, and apart from being very tired that afternoon ( which I was warned would happen), have felt fantastic since, with so much energy ! For the first time since last October when my chemo started, I have felt totally normal & its great!
Now, I dont know if its down to the reflexolgy or the fact that I know Ive only got 2xCMF’s to go ( yippee!), and the truth is I dont really care. But I would recommend the reflexology to anyone who feels they need a boost. :-))))

I agree… I am a qualified reflexologist and a long time fan of reflexology (been having treatments for about 10 years), and however it works, it does leave you feeling more relaxed and calmer. I had a reflexology treatment yesterday and slept better last night than I have been recently.

Breast Cancer Haven Hi Sheila

You might want to try the Breast Cancer Haven? There is one in Fulham and one in Hereford. They run two day introductory course on relaxation/nutrition/threrapies etc. There is then the opportunity to go for follow ups. Reflexology is one of the services they offer. I went to the introductory course at hereford which was fab. Unfortunately I live too far to do the follow up. I go to refelxology at my local beauty salon. Haven details on thehaventrust.org.uk

Good luck

In praise of reflexology I posted yesterday in a different bit in praise of reflexology!

I had my first chemo on 9th Feb and my first reflexology session yesterday. It was offered free (for cancer patients) at the hospice atteched to my the hospital where I go for treatment in sunny Suffolk. I have never experienced it before and it was lovely.

I drove myself there (first time done so since the chemo) and arrived feeling like a limp rag and really washed out. Afterwards I felt much more in control and more like myself for the first time.

I am still very very tired but I actually didn’t go to bed until 10pm last night for the first time where I have been collapsing about 8.30 most other nights. I didn’t make a connection but maybe that was why?

Still didn’t sleep much better than I have been and got up early again but I am getting used to that.

I have another one booked for next Friday before the next Epi onslaught the following week.

The MacMillan Nurse put me forward for the session - they also do aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage - why not ask if your local hospital offers something similar?
