Restless Legs

Hi,

I’ve been on Arimidex for 15 months and in the last few weeks I’ve been getting a horrible feeling in my legs in the evening or when I’m trying to go to sleep. Reading up on Restless Leg Syndrome, it sounds exactly like that.

It’s a most unpleasant feeling…a kind of ache but different to anything I’ve ever felt before. It makes me want to stretch my legs as hard as I can or get up and walk about…it’s horrible! I think I get it more when I am very tired and even had it in my arms as well a few times.

Anyone else relate to this?

Yes, suffered from it for years! I find taking co-codamol works well for me.

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for your reply. Do you get it every night or just now and again…is my description similar to what you experience?

Perhaps it’s nothing to do with the Arimidex at all…god knows!!!

Hi - I have also had it for years, long before had bc and started taking arimadex. It’s a horrible sensation - difficult to describe to anyone who has never had it. My dad, brother and now my son all have it. Not sure if it’s hereditary or not. Mine comes on when I’m relaxing at night too, and like you too Sheana, I sometimes have to get up out of bed as just cannot settle. I’ve found that an ibruprofen takes it off in about half an hour, then I can get to sleep.

I get this too Sheana and have had it for years. It affects me more if I eat too much in an evening for some reason

Hi,

Thanks ladies…I know this is a pretty common problem but I must admit that when I heard people talking about it before I didn’t take much notice, thinking it was just a minor problem. But, now I know that it is a most unpleasant senation. I have read up on it a bit and it does appear to run in families but I have’nt heard of it before…apparently it comes on in middle age and can be intermittant. I don’t get it every night so I’ll have to see if I can work out a pattern to it.

Thanks again for your comments girls,
