So Friday I get the results of my lumoectomy and lymph biopsy. Really hoping they got clear margins and no lymph involvement. Don’t fancy another op.
I think I will also be finding out my treatment plan. I have such a busy day Friday, I’m not sure how I’m going to fit it all in.
Good thing about having a treatment plan means i can start telling people. At the moment I feel it’s just a bit of an anouncement, I don’t really have anything to follow to soften the blow. I can’t even explain what it is properly.
Just to let you know that I’m thinking of you and hope you get good results on Friday. Waiting for results is really stressful and I hope it all goes well for you xx
Jencat, look at us both awake at silly o’clock! Thank you. I think your a week ahead of me aren’t you? So you will have this bit done with now, waiting is the worst bit isn’t it?!!
SueW, getting on really well actually. It probably took a week for the full effects of the general to leave, but I was out and about on day two (with a five hour nap after!)
I’m finding at two weeks post op, I’m not really needing to nap, but after making dinner and putting children to bed, I’m good for nothing but watching a bit of telly and early bed! Arm mobility is good and I’m not too sore now, most pain is probably in my arm where I can quite do a full stretch yet.
And I literally can not wait for these dressings to come off, keeping them stuck all round, clingfilm for showers and itching is driving me bonkers!
Good luck for tomorrow. You are so right when I got my treatment plan it was good to be able to tell people what was going to happen and when, one of my friends said she was so re-assured when I told her it was a real relief for her.
Even if you have to have another op I have seen comments from ladies who have had to have a shave say that it was nowhere near as bad as they thought.
Think it depends on your procedure and stitches etc my op was Tuesday first change today next change next Wednesday then that one will stay on til I see consultant on 23rd x
Good morning all! Thanks for all the luck ladies ?
Well results were a mixed bag though on the whole great. No more surgery for me, clear margins and no lymph involvement at all…phew! All dressings are now off, literally got home and went straight in the shower!!!
Following surgery, the cancer has been upgraded to a grade3 though and is triple negative. So I’m going to have to have chemo. ? I am seeing my Onc next Wednesday. Because of all the factors I believe I will have genetics done. Rads will be at the end. Long rd ahead.
My children have been great and not particularly affected by it all so far, they are 6&4, but I think me chopping my hair off pre chemo may freak them out a bit.
