Review appt confused.com!

Hi, I had my oncology appointment last Friday for a chat about chemo/ radio etc.. and agreed on chemo.. but needed a echo first which I’ve had today.. I had in the post a telephone review appt come though for 12th June with the same oncologist but I’ve not had a chemo start date yet.. is this normal to receive a telephone consult before anything’s happened?? Can’t understand why I would need to speak to him again if nothings changed from my appt Friday.. do they just call you and suddenly it all starts happening?? He did say I needed to start before 3 weeks.. as I will be 12 weeks post op by then.

I had a ct scan a couple of weeks ago on a undetermined lung nodule they found on my first CT Feb which they weren’t worried about and keeping an eye on every 3 months but I would hope if anything from that they would have called to see me in person not a telephone review and when I asked about the result last Friday it hadn’t been reported on and they sent the letter Tuesday after the bank holiday. So I’m hoping it’s nothing to do with that and is chemo based..

any one in similar situation??

It doesn’t sound like the letter has anything to do with your lung nodule as the letter has come too quickly .

Could you ring your breast care nurses and ask what the appointments for, you have a right to now and no point in worrying about it for a couple of weeks

Did you talk through your chemo regime with the oncologist in your appointment ?

We did talk through it yes.. my lung CT was a couple of weeks ago.. so the result could be back now but I wouldn’t of thought he would have looked that quickly unless they saw it at mdt.. but all my other results have come back and the nurse has called em to tell me the results straight away.. I’m hoping it’s a review of chemo starting.. as I should be due in the next 2 weeks at most.

Id just give them a ring to clarify what the appointments for ? No point in worrying .Good luck with your chemo have you joined the June chemo starters thread to get some support ?
