Hi I’m recovering from treatment and have rib pain on the left side where I had lumpectomy about a year ago now. Had chemo and radiotherapy finished in December but only just started getting the rib pain now.
It hurts to touch them and if I lift my arm in the air or stretch on that side. Anyone else had the same thing? I’m due for my yearly scan soon so they should check it out then…

I have the same symptoms as you. Like you I had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy in 2015. Like you my rib pain is new and in a very specific spot and tender when pressed. I immediately contacted my breast care nurse and they saw me in clinic the next day -I would suggest if your appointment is not imminent you do the same. They have told me that it is most likely a delayed side effect of radiotherapy, but have arranged a bone scan for next week to rule out any return of the cancer. I don’t want to worry you as they reassured me that for the vast majority of cases of this kind it is not cancer, but I think you should get it checked out.

I just wanted to let you know that I have had my bone scan results back and there is no sign of cancer. Looks like it is radiotherapy side effects. I am glad that I got it checked out though. I hope you get similar reassurance too.

I booked an appointment for a checkup through my breast care nurse for tomorrow afternoon so hopefully should all be fine and only side affects from radiation xx
